A gray Nissan hatchback was pulled out of the Snake River in Idaho Falls on Sunday, according to a statement from the Idaho Falls Police Department.

The plates on the vehicle match those of the car Hall was reported to have been driving when he was last seen.

Inside the car, authorities say they also found human remains.

“Investigators have been in contact with the Hall family, and positive identification and evidentiary processing of the recovered vehicle is in progress,” the statement said.

A dive team worked with local officials to carry out the search and recovery operation.

After they located the vehicle, a tow truck pulled the vehicle out of the water from a nearby boat ramp.

According to Hall’s missing person report, he left his family’s home sometime after 2.00am on January 22, 2018.

Hall also reportedly left a note saying he intended to take his own life.

The morning after he disappeared, Hall’s mother discovered a window had been broken into at his high school.

Security camera footage showed Hall had broken into the school around 2.30am, leaving behind a note, money, and a necklace in a friend’s locker.

Authorities had previously expressed the belief that the teen might still be alive.
