10 Most Iconic Womances From Big Brother | Screen Rant
Big Brother has been filled with iconic duos and alliances throughout its twenty-three-year run in the United States. Strong alliances are necessary to advance in the game, as the social aspect in appealing to fellow houseguests is huge. While plenty of allies are chosen for strategic reasons alone, some have grown into genuine bonds of friendship on the show.
Some of the most iconic and most often discussed duos have been bromances, such as Derrick and Cody, Dan and Memphis, and Dr. Will and Boogie. Plenty of strong female bonds, or "womances," have also found great success in the house. These alliances were composed of people who genuinely loved each other's company.
Tiffany was the mastermind behind The Cookout, one of the most dominant and most entertaining alliances in Big Brother history, so her allegiance with them did come first. All six members of the alliance tried to forge an alliance with an outsider to support the alliance's goals, but Tiffany's relationship with Claire was more than that.
The two always had fun with one another, and Tiffany was transparent with her when it came time to evict her, rather than backstab. Tiff wanted to keep her badly, but the goal of The Cookout (securing the first ever black houseguest as a winner) was too great. The two were always fully supportive of one another, as their bond transcended a standard BB alliance.
Coming back to play on the second iteration of Big Brother All Stars, Da'Vonne and Bayleigh were not only a fun friendship to watch for how strong their bond was on a personal level, but they were also an extremely important pair. The two are among the best BIPOC houseguests in Big Brother history and, for a show that has had a bit of a controversial past on proper representation, to see the two form a close bond was very important.
The show has oftentimes not even had enough people of color for a friendship between two to form, and with an overhaul to how the show casts going into effect for season 22, these two helped pave the way for an alliance like The Cookout to even form. On a game and personal level, the two always had each other's back and would be there for each other.
This friendship may be bending the rules a bit as it is three houseguests, but it is simply too difficult to single one out and would be unfair to do so. Maggie, Ivette, and eventual season six winner Maggie formed half of The Friendship alliance, named so because they genuinely liked each other, and were able to make it to the final four with Janelle, forming the only final four in show history to not include a male player.
They were the most successful players from their powerful alliance, becoming friends along the way. Their relationship after the game seemed a bit rocky, as Ivette accused Maggie of lying and manipulating her unnecessarily. However, in the game, these three were always tight and a step ahead of the competition.
Helen and Elissa appeared on the highly controversial season 15, known for having some of the most maligned and cringiest houseguests in Big Brother history. These two were both targets of bullying and discrimination from others in the house, making them outsiders. This led them to lean on each other and become one of the best friendships the show has ever seen.
The two were close from day one due to their common experience of being mothers, forming an alliance known as The Mom Squad. This and their shared mistreatment at the hands of some of their housemates led to a natural bond, as they were both the only true ally and friend each one had.
Similarly to Day and Bay, these two were also a historic and important female friendship. It is unfortunate that it occurred on the Over The Top season, an online exclusive that many BB diehards skipped out on and missed. Morgan and Shelby formed a powerful female alliance that had Shelby place fifth and Morgan first.
Both were considered underdogs who fought hard to make it deep into the game. Their yin and yang personalities, with Shelby being more outspoken and Morgan more personable, made for a womance that fans absolutely loved. With fans deciding the winner this season, Morgan ended up winning the season.
Season 13 featured six returning players, and these six all teamed up on day one. The season would also be played in duos, and Daniele's duo partner Dick, had to leave the game in the first week, leaving her alone. This led to her switching sides and teaming up with some of the new players, and Kalia was certainly her best ally and closest friend.
The two saw their other alliance members decimated early, but they fought hard with their backs against the wall. They successfully ousted Brendon not once but twice, and Kalia was able to make it to the final five thanks to Daniele's help. The cute pictures they took together also showed they got along on a level deeper than gameplay.
Another season 13 womance, Rachel and Jordan were already in the veterans alliance but bonded even further once their showmance partners (Brendon and Jeff) were evicted. Seeing the two pull together and support each other through a difficult time was incredible. The two were even an official duo in the game at the end of the season when the duo twist was reinstated.
Rachel would also go on to win the season, making this duo composed of two champions (Jordan won season 11). While their run to the final four together made them popular enough, seeing them support each other without their eventual husbands was amazing, and both were also already two of the most popular players in BB history.
Alison and Jun had a bit of a complicated relationship, as the two were seen as rivals for a lot of the game. The two did form a secret alliance as the game progressed though, riding it all the way to the final two. The two were both heavily disliked by the end by many of their housemates, making them the perfect partners for each other.
Jun, known as one of the best houseguests to only play the game once, perfected the floater strategy, while Alison was a master manipulator. Both of these strategies have been frowned upon by some, but they both used them effectively to make it to the end. Using their housemate's dislike of them to bond was quite hysterical as well.
Another friendship that may have seemed unlikely one day one due to an age difference of over twenty years, Keesha and Renny quickly become a fan favorite match. Both had similar personalities, being outspoken and witty with their comedic comments.
The two made it all the way to the final five, giving fans an extended look at their chemistry. Both were key players in the iconic "Keesha's Birthday" night and its ensuing events, as neither particularly liked Jessie. This is where their long friendship began, carrying throughout the season until Keesha had to make a game decision and betray Renny and the mother-daughter relationship the two had.
Possibly the most famous womance in show history, two previous America's Favorite Houseguest winners came back to compete on season 14. The two beloved blondes known for being hilarious on the feeds become besties in the house, just as fans had rooted for.
Their friendship on season 14 went so well that they actually ended up eventually competing as a team together on The Amazing Race. This was a relief, as neither made it particularly deep into the game together on season 14. While they were both there though, late nights of watching them just talk on the live feeds were a must-watch for superfans of the show, as their chemistry led to some hysterical conversations.
