VtM: Bloodhunt - Prowler Class Guide (Builds, & Strategies)
The Prowler class is one of the two playable Archetypes of the Nosferatu Clan in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt, capable of tracking down targets and gaining critical intel on an enemy's position. This Archetype is a scout-oriented class, which means its abilities are more suited for stealthy surveillance and combative reconnaissance rather than aggressive gameplay. Nevertheless, the Prowler's unique skills can also be used to hunt down enemies by lurking in the shadows in VtM: Bloodhunt and awaiting the right moment to strike.
To use the Prowler effectively in battle, VtM: Bloodhunt fans will first need to understand what the class's skills are and how they can be used in combat. Vanish is the Clan Power shared with the Prowler's relative, Saboteur. When activated, this skill will transform the player into a dark ethereal cloud, increasing their movement speed and granting invincibility for 1.25 seconds. Similar to Wraith's Into the Void in Apex Legends, Vanish can be used to sneak up on enemies or quickly evade an assault. Players are recommended to use this Clan Power in darker areas so that the shadowy cloud can blend in better with their surroundings.
The Prowler's Passive Power is Sense the Beast, a tracking ability that leaves a hazy trail of blood in VtM: Bloodhunt from wounded enemies at 99 HP or lower. This trail will travel for 60 meters, after which it will begin to fade away. Keep in mind that Sense the Beast can be countered with healing items, causing the blood trail to disappear instantly. Moreover, this ability is not very effective against enemies playing the Brute class since the Archetype's passive grants automatic healing until 100 HP.
Scouting Famulus is the Prowler's Archetype Power that grants the player the ability to see enemies through walls. To activate Scouting Famulus, the caster will send out a cauldron of bats in the target's direction. Once the bats reach a solid surface or travel 100 meters, they will stop in place and reveal any nearby prey with a red silhouette. These bats can potentially give away the caster's position. Therefore, consider if the situation is optimal to sacrifice one's cover in VtM: Bloodhunt for the vision of a concealed enemy.
As an intel scout, the Prowler is undoubtedly viable for solo play in VtM: Bloodhunt but will likely be more effective in a cooperative party. The Archetype lacks mobility, so equipping Scourge Blades for a bonus dodge or gap closer is recommended. While it would be ideal to use long-ranged weaponry for the Prowler class, the limited range of the Archetype's powers means that medium to short-range armaments would be better. Such weapons include stealthy mid-range Silenced SMGs or finisher Shotgun variants.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt is available on PC and PlayStation 5.
