CASTLEHILL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP ONLINE 2021-22
Round 4 results and round 5 draw
Apologies for lateness of post but round 4 proved a challenge to get all the matches played (preferred) and in the end despite the extra time given, we could not get them all played (gutted!). Indeed it is very disappointing to have 6 defaulted matches in one round and I am still not sure why this is was the case.
Anyway onward and upward as we approach the final round (5). The 4th round did not produce any shock results (boo!) and the leaders remained the same:
1st Leyton Hackney (4 pts)
2nd= Rishi Vijayakumar J10 & Euan Murray (3½ pts)
3rd= Richard Kynoch, Robert Jackson & Ed Walton (3 pts)
The battle for the title rests with the top two board pairings of Leyton Hackney v Rishi Vijayakumar J10 and Richard Kynoch v Euan Murray. Leyton only needs to draw to take a share of the title, while Rishi needs to win to pip Leyton to a share of the title! The sharing option is… if Euan Murray can win his match against Richard Kynoch and Rishi wins his match, then the both of them will be champions! If Leyton draws his match and Euan wins, then they share the title! If Leyton wins he takes the title outright. If Rishi wins and Euan lost, then Rishi wins the title outright!
Just what we wanted a dramatic finish with plenty of twists and turns!
