[Softball] Higher Seed Sweep First Day of Cal Pac Championship

The higher seed won every opening round game of the 2022 California Pacific Conference Softball Championship at La Sierra in Riverside, Calif., and, as a result, created some interesting matchups for Friday's second day of action.  In the opening contest, #4 Simpson rallied for a 13-9 win over #5 La Sierra, moving the Red Hawks into their second game of the day against top-seeded Embry-Riddle.  SU battled in that 1-0 game but came up on the short end of in an outstanding pitchers' duel.  #2 Marymount California powered its way past #3 Westcliff 9-1 in its first game of the tournament, but in the final game of the day, the Warriors eliminated LSU with a 10-6 victory.
