With Champions League groups complete, Buriram steps up to fill AFC Cup hosting gap
May 5 – Having just completed hosting a centralised group stage of the AFC’s Champions League, Buriram in Thailand has stepped up again to fill the hosting gap left in the AFC Cup.
Chinese Taipei were to host of the AFC Cup 2022 Group J matches for the East Zone, but a surge of the coronavirus in the country and he resulting travel restrictions forced them to pull out.
Instead the AFC has today confirmed that the centralised ties will be switched to Buriram.
