Marin and Niinistö say Finland should apply for Nato within a few days

PRESIDENT Sauli Niinistö and Prime Minister Sanna Marin (SDP) announced their congruous, unambiguous and unsurprising position on Nato on Thursday.

“Nato membership would strengthen Finland’s security. As a member of Nato, Finland would strengthen the entire defence alliance. Finland must apply for Nato membership without delay,” they stated in a joint press release issued at 10am on Thursday.
