Jan. 6 committee slaps subpoenas on Rep. Kevin McCarthy and 4 other Trump allies

Committee chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson called on McCarthy and the others to “do their patriotic duty” and cooperate with its probe into the violent attack by pro-Trump extremists that was designed to prevent Congress from certifying President Biden’s election win.
