But anyway, when it mattered key players stood up to be counted for Everton and did vital things when it mattered.
Saves and goals.
Specifically Jordan Pickford who has done his best impression of a prime Gianluigi Buffon in recent matches and Richarlison who when he wasn't laying on the floor he has scored crucial goal and created goals.
Likewise Burnley who once again today had Nick Pope doing his best Gordon Banks impression as he has regularly recently.
Too many times this season when it mattered our players at best haven't done enough and at worst have surrendered meekly.
Whatever happens many fingers will be pointed and much discussion will be had regardless of whether we survive or not.
This season has been a disgrace from start to finish and blame isn't solely on one person.
However we now need our players to show why they finished 9th last season.
We need Raphinha to show why he is the new golden boy of Brazilian football.
We need Kalvin Phillips to show that he really is the Yorkshire Pirlo not a one season 1 trick wonder.
We need Rodrigo Moreno to show why Barcelona we're going to pay around £50millon for him at one point which was confirmed by the Valencia President recently.
We need Robin Koch to show why Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig both tried to buy him before we did.
We need Joe Gelhardt to show why he is the Scouse Messi . . .
We need Illan Meslier to show why he has been linked to the biggest teams in Europe at various stages of his career.
We need the Rolls Royce of a cb Llorente showed he can be last season.
We need the Jack Harrison who was mentioned of as an England option on the left wing potentially.
We need our big players to perform 1 last time and show what they are truly capable of.
And we need Jesse Marsch to show why he was at one point one of the highest rated coaches under 50 in Europe.
Not the meek showing the majority of this squad have managed this season.
But 1 big push.
