I’m a pro chef – a cheap and simple addition can transform your dish and it’s just as important as salt
THIS CHEF has shared a secret ingredient that can transform any dish “in a surprising way.”
The anonymous culinary genius responded to a Reddit thread asking for everyone’s number one cooking tip.
They said: “If there’s one ‘Ah ha’ moment I’ve had in the last 20 years of cooking, it’s that when salt isn’t ‘helping’ a dish, what’s missing is acid.”
The Redditor said many different forms of acid can help liven up a dish that seems flat.
“Lemon juice, vinegar, or citric acid (if you have some) transforms a dish in a surprising way,” they shared.
Many other chefs took to the thread to give invaluable cooking advice.

One user said there’s no need to stress if things aren’t going your way in the kitchen – because you can just stop.
“A master chef told me this in culinary school: ‘you can always stop cooking,'” another anonymous chef said.
“Take it off the burner or out of the oven if you need to. Surprisingly helpful tip.”
Another chef unsurprisingly said that simple is best when you’re trying to get comfortable in the kitchen.

“Keep it simple,” they shared. “Something with 3-4 ingredients that go really well together is better than something with 12 ingredients that clash with each other.”
Earlier this week we reported on how this cooking fan will never have to clean another measuring cup.
Well, she does cut down on doing dishes but not many people were on board.
Mom Cayla Popoff took to social media to share to show off her “standard practice” when baking.
As she baked a cake, she used a measuring cup to make a dent in the dry ingredients.
Pressing the bottom part of the cup into the batter, she was left with a hole that she then filled with oil.
According to her, this was easier than simply measuring the oil inside the cup.
She claimed this method was perfect because you would “never have to clean another measuring cup.”
“Sure you still have to clean the brownie bowl but I haven’t thought of something for that yet,” she added.
Unfortunately, not many people were impressed with her technique as there was one simple flaw: wouldn’t you have to clean the bottom of the cup?
One person wrote: “So you just put it away with the bottom dirty?”
