[Outdoor Track & Field] Track and Field Heading to NAIA Championships

Doane Track and Field will embark on Gulf Shores, Alabama, this week as they compete in the 2022 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. This year marks the 70th annual men's championship and the 41st women's championship.

The Tiger men will take 21 individuals to the championships, tied for most of any team competing, while the women will be represented by seven athletes. In the latest USTF-CCCA ratings index, the women are ranked No. 15 with the men ranked No. 18. The Tiger men are the co-defending NAIA National Champions after tying with Madonna in 2021.

The Doane women have five individual Top 10 rankings in events heading into the week's championship. Allison Skala (JR/North Platte, Neb.) leads the way with three Top 10 marks as she sits 2nd in the shot put, 7th in the javelin, and 10th in the discus. Lindsay Adams (FR/Omaha, Neb.) sits 3rd in the heptathlon and Macy Fuller (SO/Kearney, Neb.) is 9th in the hammer throw.

For the men, they have five Top 10 rankings entering the meet. Zach Turner (SO/Crete, Neb.) leads the way with two marks as he is 4th in the 400m hurdles and 8th in the 110m hurdles. Logan Hammond (SR/Ogallala, Neb.) joines Turner in the 400m hurdles as he sits 10th nationally. Matthew Campbell (SR/Ainsworth, Neb.) is 8th entering the meet in the hammer throw. Kalen Dockweiler (SO/Callaway, Neb.) is 10th in the 3000m steeplechase.
