‘Grello’ Porsche Out Of Nürburgring 24 Hours After Vanthoor Brothers Tangle

The #1 Manthey Racing ‘Grello’ Porsche 911 GT3 R is out of the 2022 Nürburgring 24 Hours after an accident at Tiergarten saw Laurens Vanthoor impact the barrier on both sides of the circuit after a brush with his brothers Phoenix Audi, the pair having exchanged pair for much of the preceding lap!

The final brush saw the Porsche move over on the Audi with just enough contact to unsettle the #1, Laurens turned around and impacting the barrier hard on the right hand side at the marshals post, mercifully with no apparent injuries to the course workers as debris was sprayed in all directions.

Laurens walked away from the Porsche which suffered major front end damage and was able to walk to an ambulance without assistance.

The #1 joins the #99 ROWE BMW an the #27 TokSport WRT and #29 Dinamic Porsches on the retirement list
