I thought I’d given my daughter a fairly common name, but people won’t stop asking me how to pronounce it
SHE thought she’d chosen a fairly common name for her newborn daughter.
But fitness influencer Ashy Bines has left fans confused after revealing she’s called her baby girl Tala.
The blogger announced her newborn’s name on Instagram, alongside a picture of her daughter in a white romper, writing: “TALA”.
In comments on the post, numerous people were quick to ask Ashy how to pronounce the moniker – apparently confused as to whether it was “Tala” like “Nala” or like “Taylor”.
“Congratulations. How do you pronounce her name?” one wrote.
“Pronounced like LALA or NALA but TALA (for those asking),” Ashy responded.

“Tala meanings ~ Gold, Star, Story, Noble & Wolf Princess, little palm tree and pretty girl (only learnt this after we announced and which countries the meanings coming from! So so cool.”
Once Ashy had cleared up some people’s confusion, others insisted they had no issues about the name.
“That’s 100 per cent not confusing,” one person wrote.
“How’s that confusing lol,” someone else added.
