Cristiano Ronaldo transfer news: Chelsea odds-on favourites with Man Utd star OUT of pre-season tour, Man City 50/1
CHELSEA are leading candidates to sign Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
That’s according to bookmakers Betfair, who’ve priced Thomas Tuchel’s side at 10/11 to clinch the Manchester United forward’s signature this summer.

Ronaldo scored 24 goals and provided three assists in 37 appearances last season – finishing as the club’s top scorer.
However, he was unable to steer the Red Devils to Champions League qualification.
And last week, Ronaldo told Old Trafford officials that he would like to leave if an acceptable offer arrived.
The 37-year-old has 12 months remaining on his contract.
He still believes that he’s capable of playing at the highest level and wants a fresh challenge elsewhere to fight for major trophies.
Ronaldo also wants a clear sign that United are looking to match his ambitions by strengthening the squad.

But they’ve made just ONE addition since the arrival of new manager Erik ten Hag with full-back Tyrell Malacia joining from Feyenoord.
Ronaldo did NOT report back for pre-season training this week, and has now been omitted from United’s squad for their pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia.

The Athletic claim that ‘well-placed sources’ believe he’s staying away as part of an ‘exit strategy’ while agent Jorge Mendes enters talks with other clubs.
It’s said that Mendes has met with Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly, and spoken with officials at Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich.
SunSport understands that Boehly wants a marquee signing to launch his regime after taking over last month in a £4.25billion deal

And that’s perhaps why the pair lead the betting market.
Chelsea were available at 4/1 at the beginning of the week but have since been driven into 10/11, while Bayern are offered at 10/3.
Barcelona are 6/1, Jose Mourinho’s Roma are 15/2, while Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are priced at 12/1 and 14/1 respectively.
Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “We’ve seen a flurry of bets on Ronaldo to join Chelsea and have cut his odds to join Thomas Tuchel’s side from 4/1 to 10/11 overnight.”
