Woman killed after being hit by a bus as two other pedestrians are hurt in horror crash
A WOMAN has died and two other pedestrians have been injured after a horror bus smash in Manchester.
The double-decker bus crashed into people waiting at a stop in the Piccadilly area of the city centre, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said.
One woman in her 50s died of her injuries.
Another woman, also in her 50s, is in hospital with serious injuries following the collision.
A man in his 60s received treatment for minor injuries.
The bus driver remained at the scene to assist officers with their enquiries, the force spokesman said.

Stagecoach Manchester confirmed that one of its buses was involved in a “serious incident”.
A spokesman told the Manchester Evening News: “We can confirm that one of our vehicles was involved in a serious incident at a bus shelter at Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester around 9.30pm on Sunday evening.
“Our first thoughts are for those affected by the incident and their families. Safety is our absolute priority and we are supporting the investigation into the circumstances involved in any way that we can.”
Horrified witnesses said the bus mounted the kerb before smashing into the bus stop.

One told the MEN: “I just saw the bus suddenly mount the kerb and crash into the bus stop.
“There were hundreds of people standing around trying to help.
“The police were here within minutes.”

Officers are appealing for anyone with dash or helmet-cam footage of the collision to get in touch.
