NO one wants their home to look cheap.

But sometimes, we’re unaware of the design mistakes that make a house look downright tacky.

One interior design and decorating expert, who goes by @designbroker on TikTok, has gained a following of over 150k users thanks to her videos that offer home advice and product recommendations.

She created a series called “What would rich mom do?” where she shares tips to make your home look more expensive.

In a recent clip, titled “What would rich mom do? Landscape edition,” she revealed the biggest mistakes you can make in your garden that instantly devalue the appeal of your home.

GRAVEL

The first item on her list addressed what you use for the pathways in your lawn.

MOW EXPECTATIONS

You might be mowing your lawn too much – my 'one-third rule' will fix that

“Rich mom would not landscape with white rocks, or any color rocks,” she began.

“Instead, rich mom uses pea gravel.”

A series of images showing beautiful gardens with pea gravel trails proved her point.

LIGHTING

Next up, she said to ditch the visible lighting.

“Rich mom would never let her landscaping lights be seen,” she said alongside a photo of tall, black landscape lights.

“Instead, she tucks them away neatly, leaving you guessing where they are even coming from.”

It’s best to hide your lighting in shrubs or under mounts.

DRIVEWAY

As for your driveway, she said you shouldn’t go for a simple poured concrete driveway.

“Rich mom’s driveway grows grass or is paved with stone,” she said.

FENCES

Most people have fences to guard off their backyard, but the design pro said this isn’t enough.

“Rich mom doesn’t just have a fence for her backyard, but she has a fence for her front yard too.”

Viewers were thankful for the tips.

“Oh wow. New fave series!” one person wrote.

“I needed this!!! More landscaping puh-leez! Love it,” added another.
