Forward Jonathan Dahlen and defenseman Nicolas Meloche were among the players not given qualifying offers by the Sharks prior to Monday’s deadline, and will now become unrestricted free agents.

Other pending restricted free agents cast aside by the Sharks were forwards Joachim Blichfeld, Zach Gallant, Jake McGrew, defensemen Nicolas Meloche, Antoine Morand, and Brinson Pasichnuk, and goalie Zach Sawchenko. Blichfeld has already signed with a team in the Swedish Hockey League.

The Sharks did give qualifying offers to pending RFA forwards Sasha Chmelevski, Jonah Gadjovich, Luke Kunin. and Noah Gregor, defenseman Mario Ferraro, and goalie Kaapo Kahkonen.

Dahlen, the son of former Sharks forward Ulf Dahlen, had 22 points in 61 games this past season, as he struggled mightily in the second half of the year. Dahlen, 24, had two points in his final 21 games as he fell into the doghouse of former coach Bob Boughner.
