Apex Legends pro refuses to eliminate disconnected opponent during $2 million tournament

0

There are times when sportsmanship takes precedence during competition. For one Apex Legends professional, that means sparing any opposition suffering from technical difficulties.

During the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) championships on Saturday, TSM’s Phillip “ImperialHal” Dosen noticed an opponent wasn’t moving, quickly realizing that the player (SCARZ’s Dan ‘rpr’ Ušić) had disconnected (thanks, Dot Esports). Without batting an eye, Dosen orders his teammates not to fire — solely because picking someone off like this wouldn’t be fair at all. It’s important to note that ALGS had a $2 million prize pool, and eliminating all other teams is the goal. So, yeah, legendary move on Dosen’s part.

Check out the clip in question from ALGS below. Alternatively, show this off at your kid’s little league practice to show them that respect should go both ways.

“It’s the least every player can do out here with these issues,” Dosen said on Twitter. Talk about being a class act.

Best of all, both teams ended up qualifying for the championship finals. However, team DarkZero ended up as the tournament champions on Sunday.

Regardless of who won, it’s always great seeing competitors play fair. Apex Legends is messy these days, so spotting technical hiccups fast should be a welcome practice.
