Pasadena firefighters on Monday, July 8, stepped up in the ring, so to speak.
They donated customized boxing attire to 12 community young people who are part of the Villa Parke Boxing Program.
Fire personnel were on hand at Villa Parke Boxing Gym to watch as the youngsters tested out the gear.
The Villa Parke Youth Boxing Program offers a variety of courses geared toward health and fitness. The idea is to use boxing to create a positive change in every participant, according to the city.
The training focuses on learning skills but it also works to harness self-esteem and sportsmanship.
