Luis Suarez to the Sounders... why not?

The Portland loss and the loss of Ruidiaz to injury again highlights the need to sign a very good player right now. I have been advocating the need for a DP quality player for a short time now including right after Gareth Bale signed for LAFC. ESPNFC has an article right now saying that Suarez has had offers from 5 or 6 MLS teams... and I hope that the Sounders is one of them.

We can't be limping along with Ruidiaz and Joao Paulo and others out for significant portions of the season. The 3-0 drubbing by Portland should be a wake up call to management.

Read the article and keep in mind the advantages that playing for the Sounders has over the other MLS teams. #1... we always make the playoffs.... #2 we have the deepest team in MLS.... #3 We are CONCACAF champions... we have that FIFA Club World Cup to play for.... #4 I have heard elsewhere that he and Lodeiro are good friends... I can not confirm that... #5 we have the best supporters in MLS.,,, #6 We have one international slot available... #7 he could easily fit into the current lineup by being pairing up with Lodeiro up front.

If Suarez says that he wants to be a Sounder but they have to do A B and/or C to sign him, then I think they would do it short of giving him a small fortune. Since the guy is already financially well off... it would not surprise me that we could give him TAM money instead of making him another DP.
