Gareth Bale breaks silence on Wayne Rooney’s $1m-a-year DC United job as Man Utd legend joins him in MLS
GARETH BALE says Wayne Rooney’s move back to the MLS will make it an even more attractive proposition for top players.
Wales legend Bale, 32, joined Los Angeles FC after leaving Real Madrid this summer.
England legend Rooney, 36, looks set to become DC United’s new manager after his exit from Derby.
The ex-Manchester United ace was pictured landing at Washington’s Dulles airport to discuss a £1million-a-year role at his old club.
Rooney, who left the Rams last month, played for DC United between 2018-2020.
He is being lined up by the MLS side after they axed Hernan Losada.

Bale believes his move to the States will help prolong his playing days with World Cup-bound Wales, and that Rooney’s arrival only underlines how attractive the MLS is now to top stars.
The former Spurs winger said: “I am definitely excited. This is a league that has really grown and come along way in the past ten years.
“Everybody is striving forward to improve this league and the players that come over see that as well.
“I don’t think anyone sees this as a retirement league. It is physically demanding. The weather changes, the time difference, the travel.
