Photo Review: 2022 GLNFCC Funny Car Nationals
The Great Lakes Nostalgia Funny Car Circuit celebrated it’s 15th birthday with the 15th Annual Good Vibrations Motorsports Funny Car Nationals at Keystone Raceway Park. 15 (do I sense a pattern) alcohol burning nostalgia floppers put on quite a show. Here are some highlights by Dave Oakes
Chris Massarella’s Total Insanity Monza defeated the Helger Brothers Camaro for the event win.
Helger had lane choice over the Monza with a stellar 6.90 in round 1, while Massarella ran 6.93
The gorgeous WarPath Somerset of John Cerchio
Matt Stambaugh in the Generation X Vega took home the burnout contest title.
Shout out to the Massarella’s, who fielded 2 cars. Krista had her Temporary Insanity running good as well.
Jon Wall in the Fireball Monza was a contender for burnout king but broke and missed round 2
Stambaugh had the Vega on kill, running 6.80 and 6.81 on the 6.90 max
Willie Johnson’s No Money, No Funny was the only injected car in the field
The Red Wave of Bill Walls missed making the final by .001 to Massarella
If I had a vote for best burnout, it would have been for this smoker by the Big Girl
A nice high flying 70 ½ Camaro of local racer Scott Riggs
