Rodri signs new Man City contract after Kalvin Phillips arrival with Foden and Mahrez next in line for new deals
RODRI has vowed to get “even better” after signing a three-year deal extension at Manchester City.
The Spain midfielder, 26, has established himself as one of the Prem’s top stars at the champions and says he was happy to commit to the club until June 2027.
Rodri will face fresh competition for his place from new City signing Kalvin Phillips next season.
The £45million England midfielder, 26, evolved into a world-class defensive midfielder at boyhood club Leeds and wants to start collecting trophies with the Manchester giants.
But the Yorkshire Pirlo’s arrival at the Etihad has only inspired Rodri to kick on to new heights next season.
The former Atletico Madrid star told City’s website: “If I can show the level I have in the last three years, I feel I can be even better.

“I am very happy with that, and I think the club think the same, which is why we have both agreed to continue here.
“We are both happy. There is no better place to be.”
On Phillips’ arrival, Rodri added: “He is a great player, we saw that at Leeds.
“We need this kind of player because when Fernandinho left we need physical players who can play holding midfielder and in forward positions.
