U.S. stocks open higher as dollar retreats from parity with euro
U.S. stocks opened mostly higher on Tuesday as Treasury yields declined and the dollar retreated from parity with the euro. The S&P 500 dropped 2.5 points, or 0.1%, at 3852. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 45 points, or 0.4%, at 11,417. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 55 points, or 0.2%, at 31,124. The strong dollar has been adding to concerns about waning economic growth, which weighed on equities yesterday.
