Michael Owen finally reveals if he will appear on Love Island’s ‘meet the parents’ episode with Gemma and Luca
MICHAEL Owen has finally revealed his plan for appearing on Love Island’s ‘Meet The Parents’ episode.
Fans have remained keen to know if the Three Lions legend would fly to Majorca and support 19-year-old Gemma and her villa beau Luca Bish on Love Island.
But now he’s confirmed it’ll be Gemma’s mum Louise Owen that represents the family.
Speaking to Sky Sports At The Races after watching his horse Box To Box run, Michael shared the bad news.
Asked about making an appearance, he said: “My wife will do that duty. I’ll represent the horses and she’ll represent the daughter.”
The footy ace added that watching his racehorse was far more nerve wracking than turning into ITV2.

He went on: “I don’t know what I’ll get from Box To Box.
“But I know what I’m going to get from my daughter. I’ve fathered her for 19 years so I’m pretty sure what I’m going to get from her.”
The news will leave Love Island viewers disappointed after the stage appeared to be set for Michael to visit the villa.
The Sun reported last week that his main employer, BT Sport, had confirmed their pundit’s diary was clear of fixtures in the last week of July – when the parental visits usually take place.

At the time, a show source said: “Everybody knows Michael entering the villa would be ratings gold. Discussions around Meet The Parents will begin soon.”
