“Peace should be maintained in the hills. Putting aside self-interest, peace has to be the prime focus and it will help in economic growth and development of the hills,” Banerjee said while speaking at the Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) oath taking ceremony today. The West Bengal Chief Minister also proposed to set up a Hill University at Mongpu and setting up of an industrial hub.
