Spurs star admits he is excited about the new signings the club have made
Eric Dier has admitted that he is excited about the new players who have come through the door at Tottenham so far this summer.
Tottenham had a strong finish to the 2021/22 campaign, clinching a Champions League qualification spot in the final game of the season.
The North Londoners have certainly not rested on their laurels this summer, choosing to make wholesale changes to the squad ahead of Antonio Conte’s first season in charge.
Five new faces have arrived through the door so far in the form of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Ricahrlison and Clement Lenglet, with a right wing-back and potentially a playmaker expected to follow (Evening Standard).
Conte admitted that it was important to have the key signings completed early so that the new players can have a full pre-season (Football.London).
Dier has now revealed that he and his teammates are over the moon with the kind of quality additions that the club have made so far.
When asked about the new arrivals, the centre-back Football.London: “I’m so happy on an individual, and I think I can speak on a collective level as well, everyone is really happy with how the summer has gone. The manager here and looking to continue to build.
“We all have a reason to be excited for what’s to come. The club have had a great summer, they’ve made a lot of signings and really exciting signings, in my opinion.”

A summer like the one Spurs have had so far not only improves the morale of the camp ahead of the new season but also keeps the players on the toes, given the increased competition for places.
I would not be surprised if we see the likes of Dier, Davies and Hojbjerg hit new heights next season as they know that they need to be at the top of their game to keep their places in the starting eleven.
