Dad, 26, charged with murder after his seven-week-old son died from head injury
A DAD has been charged with murder after his seven-week-old son died from a head injury.
Oliver Mailey, 26, of Burnley, Lancashire, is accused of killing his newborn baby Abel-Jax Mailey last November.

Abel-Jax was taken to hospital before being transferred to Manchester Children’s Hospital for further treatment.
The youngster sadly died two days later on November 30.
A Home Office post-mortem examination was conducted and following further tests, it found Abel-Jax had died of a head injury.

A man and woman were initially arrested on suspicion of assault and later on suspicion of murder in connection with the little boy’s death.
Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, dad Oliver Mailey has been charged with the baby’s murder.
The woman previously arrested was released with no further action.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “These are tragic circumstances and our thoughts remain with Abel-Jax’s family at this sad and very difficult time.

Mailey is due to appear at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
