WHETHER you’re a neat freak or someone who only cleans when it becomes absolutely necessary, there are some spots you’re probably overlooking.
These hidden places can be the perfect home for dust and germs if they aren’t cleaned regularly enough.
TikTok user More Than Cleaning, or Ileana, shared the top five places we tend to overlook when cleaning our homes.
Ileana’s first suggestion is to clean out the area under your sofa cushions.
“Lift those puppies up and give it a good vacuum cleaning. You’d be surprised how much dust collects under there,” she explained.
She also recommended dusting your curtain rods regularly, to avoid a build-up of dust.

She told her followers: “You’d be surprised how many of us forget to look up. They not only accumulate dust but they also accumulate spiderwebs.”
According to the TikToker, we should also be wiping down the handrails of our stairs on a regular basis.
“We touch these on a daily basis, as we’re coming down. So let’s not forget to give them a good wipe,” she said.
Ileana also advised her followers to “lift the blinds up and give the window sill a good clean.”

And finally, the TikTok user suggested cleaning the legs of your table and chairs.
“This is kind of like out of sight out of mind,” Ileana said as she explained why this area is often so neglected.
TikTok users took to the comments section to discuss the five ignored spots.
“I’m not cleaning any of those. Ugh more to the list,” wrote one viewer.
Another person said: “Chiiiiile not one of them have been touched in a year…don’t judge me.”
Other users admitted to intentionally ignoring some of the problem areas of their home.
