THIRSTY shoppers can get their water bottles filled for free at popular shops and takeaways as the heatwave rages on.
Many big name high street shops, supermarkets and food outlets are on hand to help shoppers sweltering in the 30C heat.
The country has been warmer than parts of the Maldives and the temperatures look set to climb even higher.
It’s very important to stay hydrated in the heat, so The Sun has but together a guide of all the places you can get your water bottle filled for free.
Morrisons
The supermarket giant offers free water refills at petrol stations across the country.
Customers can hand over their water bottle at kiosk attendant, who will then fill them up for free.

Asda
Shoppers at Asda can get their water bottles refilled at the supermarket’s cafés.
All you have to do is ask an employee to fill your bottle for you.

Fresh water stands are available at Sainsbury’s cafes for customers to refill their water bottles.
Some supermarkets will also let you ask for your water bottles to be filled at the fresh and deli counters – but this varies across the country.

All of Costa‘s stores offer customers the chance to have their water bottles filled for free.
The high street chain has more than 2,000 outlets across the country – and you can find your nearest here.
Greggs
You can get your water bottle filled for free at any branch of Greggs.

Premier Inn
The hotel chain will let you pop in to fill up your water bottle.
Premier Inn has more than 800 sites across the country.

The Sun has approached Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and Marks & Spencer for their policy on filling up reusable water bottles.
Where else can I get free water in the heatwave?
Clubs, pubs, restaurants and anywhere else serving alcohol are legally required to ” ensure that free potable water is provided on request for customers where it is reasonably available”.
Some restaurants may try to avoid the law by only offering fresh filtered water.
You can still ask for tap water and won’t need to pay.
If you’re out and about in public and need to fill up your water bottle during the heat of the summer you can use apps like Refill which shows the nearest refill spots to you.
And remember, even though unlicensed cafe’s aren’t legally required to give out free water, there’s no harm in asking.
The worst they can say is no.
