Portugal registers highest inflation in almost 30 years

LISBON, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Portugal's year-on-year inflation measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 8.7 percent in June, the highest since December 1992, the country's National Statistics Institute (INE) said on Tuesday.

The CPI increased by 0.7 percentage points compared to 8 percent registered in May 2022.

Energy-related inflation rose to 31.7 percent, an increase of 4.4 percentage points from
