I’m a chef – I transformed my McDonald’s meal into a gourmet pasta dish but it’s left people raging
MCDONALD’S is by no means gourmet, however, that didn’t stop a chef from trying to turn a Happy Meal into a 5-star dish.
Food TikToker Danny Kim challenged chef Amy Brandwein to turn his McDonald’s meal into gourmet tortellini.
Brandwein had french fries, McNuggets, sweet and sour sauce, and apple pies to work with.
First, the chef made pate a choux with milk, water, eggs, butter, flour, and grounded up french fries.
She then combined the chicken nuggets and apple pie filling in the food processor.
Next, Brandwein used the chicken nugget and apple pie mixture as the filling for her french fry tortellini.

The gourmet chef got to work on breadcrumbs using the apple pie crust, and a salty sauce with the McDonald’s sweet and sour.
Brandwein even went the extra mile and fried up some pommes dauphine with the french fry pate a choux.
Finally, Brandwein combined all of the elements into a McDonald’s dish fit for a Michelin-star restaurant.
Kim seemed impressed by the meal and rated Brandwein’s creation a “10/10.”

One wrote: “She lost me when she mixed the apple pie with the chicken nuggets.”
Another added: “I think I’d rather have the happy meal to be honest.”
“As a fries lover… it kinda hurts my eyes seeing fries to be grinded,” a third comment read.
Someone else commented: “Bro all that food turned into three pieces of pasta.”
Another user had quite a strong opinion and wrote: “This is a hot f***ing mess of flavors.”
