In addition to earning a nom for Outstanding Drama Series, the cast scored 14 total nominations in the acting categories. Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong are up for best actor in a drama series, J. Smith Cameron and Sarah Snook earned nods for best supporting actress in a drama, while Nicholas Braun, Kieran Culkin, and Matthew McFayden were nominated for best supporting actor in a drama series.
That breaks the record for most acting nominations for a drama series in a single year, with the previous record being 12 for The West Wing, as well as the record for most acting nominations for any series in a single year. The latter record was previously held by the miniseries Roots, which earned 13 acting noms.
It was announced last month that production had officially begun on Succession season 3. See all the details about the upcoming season here.
