Amazon's Prime Day 2022 is here and set to run officially through July 13. 

Prime Day is a great time to get a new phone, with some of the best discounts you'll find throughout the year. While this year's Prime Day deals for new iPhone models are largely carrier-dependent, you can find great deals on Samsung, Google, or Motorola phones from the retailers directly or from Amazon.

Is Prime Day the best time to buy a new phone?

As a major sales event, Prime Day offers some of the biggest discounts of the year on phones. But that also depends on which phone you're looking for.

Samsung and Motorola have quality deals during this year's Prime Day, but the discounts for Google Pixel phones aren't comparable. Likewise, the best discounts on iPhones are largely available within carrier agreements, though Prime Day is likely still the best time to buy before Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Samsung, Google, and Motorola design different phones with different users in mind. If you're looking for a powerful phone with some of the best cameras you can find on a phone, the Samsung models listed above will handily do the trick. If you're looking for a simple and reliable phone that doesn't cost too much, Motorola's phones offer excellent value.
