An organizing pro has one trick that will clear the clutter for you.
When you have limited countertop space, to begin with, it’s important to establish boundaries if you’re sharing a bathroom with a roommate or significant other.
TikTok’s DIY master Kristen understands what it’s like to have to reclaim your space.
But for her, this includes three other people: her husband, son, and daughter.
In her recent TikTok video, Kristen shows the perfect DIY project that is cheap and effective for taking back your countertop section in the bathroom.
This simple DIY isn’t just for the bathroom; it can be used to organize the kitchen as well.
The place to start is Dollar Tree.
At Dollar Tree, Kristen buys three Crafter’s Square Rectangular Wooden Crate with Handles for $1.25 each.
Additionally, she gets two Crafter’s Square Wood Planks.

You can use the crates on their own for storage, but Kristen adds the wood planks to create a tiered organizer.
Using the two planks, she attaches them to either side of a crate with a stapler.
Kristen attaches the other two crates below, positioning each at an angle.
She chose to stain the wood before placing it in her bathroom, but you can decorate it or design it to fit your style.
Once it’s all finished, Kristen puts it on her side of the counter and fills it with her personal products.
She also explains that you can use the organizer for q-tips, cotton balls, and cotton rounds as she does in her kids’ bathroom.
In another video, Kristen demonstrates how you can use the same tools to organize a pantry or make a spice rack.
First, by gluing the crates together side-by-side, you can create a long shelf.
To make sure the glue holds, use clips to keep the crates together while they dry.
Then, glue the long wooden plank to the pack of them and nail the shelf into the wall of your pantry or above the stove.
Her viewers love the organizers just as much as Kristen does.
