Following the announcement, Hudlin took to social media to express his delight at signing with the second tier side.

Speaking on Twitter, the forward said: “Delighted to have signed for such a great club, really excited for what the future holds!

“Can’t wait to get started! .”

And Huddersfield‘s head of academy recruitment Lee Mellor said: “Kyle is a very interesting player – one we are delighted to welcome to the Club.

“He’s had a fantastic rise to this position already, but we still feel there is a lot more to come from him.

“It was clear from our conversations that he has real self-belief and a determination to succeed, which is hugely important to making the most of his potential.

“We have plenty of options for what is the correct next step for Kyle. I’m excited to see his progress over the coming years.”

Understandably, Hudlin’s size has led to many people within football focusing on his heading ability.

But the young forward is adamant there is far more to his game than just his aerial threat.

Speaking back in May, he said: “Coaches thought I had just one bow to my game. I got played as a centre-back just because I was big.

“But growing up, I always had the ball at my feet, doing a skill. I haven’t trained as a big guy and I haven’t had that academy training.

“I have always been around the small technical players and you have to drop a skill in there.

“I would watch the likes of Ronaldinho, Robinho, Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo – his heading attributes is like he is a big guy.”

Hudlin joined Solihull back in October 2020 and scored 16 times for the National League club.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield will be hoping Hudlin can help them return to the Premier League.

The Terriers were beaten 1-0 by Nottingham Forest in the Championship play-off final last season, with manager Carlos Corberan subsequently quitting the club.
