Sickening moment speeding cyclist mows down widow, 79, and leaves her to die after fleeing scene
THIS is the sickening moment a speeding cyclist mows down a widow before fleeing the scene and leaving her to die.
Elizabeth Jayne Stone, 79, fractured her skull after being knocked from her feet in the horror collision.
Chilling footage of the June 7 incident last year shows Stewart McGinn, 29, hurtling round the bend after cutting across a pavement.
Without looking where he is going, he collides with Ms Stone who was walking back from a meal and cinema trip with her friend in Monmouth, South Wales.
She falls to the ground hard, smashing her head at around 10pm.
The video, shared by the South Wales Argus, is too graphic to show in full.

Realising what he has done, McGuinn gets back on his bike and flees the scene down Wonastow Road as her friend Janet Bromley screams at him to stop.
Ms Bromley shouts: “I’m on my own, please stop, come back and help.”
Ms Stone’s mouth was frothing and her eyes rolling after impact – paramedics arrived to find she had suffered a severe head injury.
She was taken to University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff but tragically died of her injuries three days later in the early hours of June 11.

The mountain biker, of Troy Way, Monmouth, later handed himself into police on June 17 after seeing an appeal about the widow’s horrific death on Facebook.
But the cyclist, unaware of the harrowing CCTV, lied to cops and claimed he stopped and helped the tragic widow to her feet, Wales Online reported.
He was caged for 12 months at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday after pleading guilty to causing bodily harm by wanton or furious driving.
McGinn was also disqualified from driving for two and a half years.
The court heard how Ms Stone was a “powerful life force” who “exemplified her Christian faith for community service”, her niece Helen Bruton said.
She was in good health before her death.
In a heart-breaking tribute, brother David Bruton told the court: “At Christmas, a time of joy and celebration, we face an empty chair at the dining table, a poignant reminder of her loss.”
After the sentencing hearing Ryan Randall from the CPS said: “The way in which McGinn rode his bike around the corner was completely irresponsible.

“His disregard for the safety of others using the pavement proved to be disastrous and is a stark reminder that pedal cycles can be dangerous to other road users when ridden so recklessly.
“Our thoughts are with those who have suffered the tragic loss of Mrs Stone.”
