Class of 2023 No. 1 recruit GG Jackson set to decommit from UNC and enroll early at South Carolina

GG Jackson, the No. 1 overall player in the Class of 2023 per 247Sports.com, is expected to announce his decommitment from North Carolina shortly. This will be followed by an immediate commitment, and enrollment at South Carolina for the upcoming season, according to Travis Branham of 247 Sports.
A ZAGSBLOG source confirmed that North Carolina was moving on from Jackson.
An official announcement will potentially be made within the next two weeks.
The 6-foot-9 forward, who plays for Ridge View High School (S.C.) and Team CP3, will become the first decommitment from North Carolina in the modern recruiting era, per 247.
While reclassifying, Jackson still remains eligible for the 2023 NBA Draft, as his December 2004 birthday barely marks him one year removed from his graduating class.
While an official announcement from Jackson hasn’t been made yet, he will be new South Carolina head coach Lamont Paris’s biggest get so far.
Jackson will presumably join two two-stars in the class of 2022, along with incoming transfers Meechie Johnson Jr., Ebrima Dibba, and Hayden Brown.
