I became a multi-millionaire at 26 – I’ve splash out on my own pad & it’s all thanks to my granny’s recipe

MANY people dream of owning their own successful multi-million pound business – but one woman revealed she has achieved this at the age of 26.

London-based Erim Kaur, who is the founder of hair and beard oil business ByErim, used money she saved from working in a nightclub to launch her brand, which is now worth £2.1million.

The young businesswoman – now 27 – said her success has enabled her to buy her first flat and enjoy swanky jet-setting trips to the likes of Dubai.

The idea for her oil business came after Erim suffered from hair loss following the death of her mother.

Speaking to Fabulous, she explained: “I lost my mother to cancer when I was 8 years old.

“When I was 11, a few years after losing my mother I started to notice my hair was falling out as a result of PTSD, brought on by a mixture of grief, stress and anxiety.

I launched my own beauty line at 14 – it’s so successful my mom works for me now

“When I first experienced hair loss I found that the hair oil recipe we now use in ByErim helped anchor the hair to my root and brought it back faster.

“Now weekly hair oiling is a regular part of my self care routine and getting the perfect balance of ingredients to keep my hair healthy and strong the recipe is something I’ve crafted together with my grandmother for years.”

Erim spent time perfecting her oil recipe as an adult and by the age of 24 she was ready to launch her business.

She said: “I started ByErim in December 2019, launching the business with £10,000 in savings I had put away working in nightclubs.

“I worked in the VIP section, bottle service, as a manager and also worked on the door.

“When we launched in 2019 I had been working as a social media influencer for a number of years and had built up a loyal following, many from the South Asian community so I knew I had a potential customer base I could target for initial traction.

“Thankfully my instinct wasn’t wrong and our first batch of 250 bottles sold out in four hours.

“The money I made from this first drop went towards investing in more stock. The next batch of 500 bottles sold out in two hours.

“I was obviously so delighted but also really surprised.

“I had hired a location with some friends to help me pack up my first batch of orders and didn’t bring enough with me as I hadn’t anticipated the demand.

“I think I even remember having a little cry!”

Erim said her business turned over £1.5million in its first year and has gone from strength to strength.

Her success has enabled her to change her lifestyle and be able to afford more luxuries in life.

The hair entrepreneur said: “When I was much younger I do remember things being financially more tough and for a period of time wearing hand me downs from best friend rather than having much that was new.

“The success of ByErim has changed my relationship with money.

“I think the turning point was when I got my own flat.

“My lifestyle has changed so much.

“ByErim also has allowed me financial freedom to make smaller purchases with less guilt than before, and I’ve also been able to enjoy more travel to visit friends and family around the world more frequently than before.”

And although she has a solid friendship group around her, she does have to be “cautious” about people’s true intentions.

She explained: “The friends who have stayed by my side are the ones I had in my life from the beginning.

“My work as an influencer and the success of ByErim has made me more cautious going into friendships however I’ve also met some incredible people in the industry who I can relate to and have formed lovely friendships with.”
