Appearing on behalf of the Centre, solicitor general Tushar Mehta last month contended that the petitioner who filed the PIL "confines his public interest to a few individuals residing in Mumbai". Mehta had argued that the Tripura High Court had "no concern" with the matter at hand. The Tripura High Court, which on May 31 and June 21 directed the MHA to produce, in a sealed cover, the original file on the threat perception and assessment report, had also said that no further adjournment would be granted in the case.
