I didn’t realise I was leaving till I was already gone.

A strange face in the mirror.
Stupid creature.
And what good are you now to anyone?

Seeking some Expert Professional Advice, considered proper in such circumstances, you ask:

How long do you think I will be away?
We cannot say…[they say].

How long should I wait?
We cannot say.

Will I ever come back at all?
We cannot say.

How can I tell I am on the right path?
We cannot say.

“That’ll be $275, we’ll email you a copy.
You can collect your prescriptions before you go, the pharmacy is in the lobby.”

I think they can only tell you one thing for sure,
(though they never actually say it).
You won’t be the same as you were before.
