EMMERDALE fans are in shock after Liam Cavanagh made a decision about his marriage.
The doctor – who is played by actor Jonny McPherson in the ITV soap – was left in shock tonight after his wife Leyla suffered a heart attack after a cocaine overdose.
But as Leyla was left battling for her life in hospital, Liam left her to it – heading home.
And he decided he was done with his marriage – and none of his friends could convince him otherwise.
Later at the hospital Leyla woke up and her son Jacob went in to see her.
“I’ll never forgive myself for what I’ve done to you,” she said.

“I’d say it was fun but that’d be another lie. I was trying to escape. I’d like to blame Meena, but this was all on me.”
As they spoke Victoria arrived with Leyla thinking Liam had come with her.

“Is Liam parking up?” she said.
“He’s going to hate me. He hates that car park, he can never find a space.
“I know he’s angry, so if you wouldn’t mind giving us a bit of space when he gets here.”
However as Leyla went on, Victoria had to break it to her that Liam wasn’t with her.
“So that’s it then? He doesn’t care. But he’s my husband,” Leyla replied sobbing.
Viewers were in shock at his decision.
