Political parties, including the People's Democratic Party and Congress, held protest demonstrations at their respective headquarters in Srinagar lashing out at the Centre for its 'anti-people' policies across the country, especially in J&K. Businesses in most parts of the Valley were functional and public transport although thin remained available throughout the day. The police and paramilitary forces remained deployed in most parts of Srinagar and senior officials were seen touring the city throughout the day.
