For months, Rhona has been eager to tie the knot with the chef (portrayed by Mark Charnock).

However, the couple have had to wait until Marlon’s recovery was well underway.

Despite the mishaps and setbacks, his progress has become clear in recent weeks, allowing him to finally get hitched.

Sadly, Rhona won’t be seeing anybody at the end of the aisle when she makes her own way in upcoming scenes of the Yorkshire-based soap.

More importantly, both her mother Mary and her best pal Vanessa Woodfield try to delay her from attending the church, implying something could be wrong.

But while she manages to thwart their efforts, Rhona gets the hint and grows increasingly concerned.

She then realises Marlon is late and is left with nothing but the hope he finally shows up as Vanessa tries to reassure her.

Her former husband (and Marlon’s friend) Paddy Kirk eventually bursts through the door with the chef… who is sat in a wheelchair.

Rhona realises that something has gone wrong and she’s completely right.

Unbeknownst to her, the night before, Marlon collapsed as he celebrated his stag do.

He was then rushed to hospital and accepted the help as long as Rhona was kept out of the loop.

When his big day came along, he was hoping all would have returned to normal only to be disappointed.

The doctor told him his blood pressure levels were still too high for him to be released.

But with a little patience, Marlon is finally able to attend his own wedding.

Does his health still need to be a cause for major concern?
