Naga Munchetty reaches out to BBC co-star after he suffers heart-breaking loss at home
BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty consoled weather presenter Simon King after his beloved cat passed away.
Taking to Twitter, Simon posted a photo of his of ginger tom Alfie and wrote: “He had a good life of 17 years but old age issues finally caught up with him and we had to say goodbye to Alfie today. Rest in peace my tiger.”
He added: “We had to make that decision and it was so hard. Just had to keep remembering it was the best thing for him in the circumstances.”
Naga replied: “So sorry Simon xxx.”
Fans rushed to share their sympathies.
One said: “Sorry to hear about Alfie’s passing Simon but glad to celebrate a life well lived.”
Another wrote: “So hard to say goodbye but the greatest gift we can give them is to let them go when they need to.”
A third penned: “Heartfelt condolences to you & yours on the sad & tragic loss of a beloved pet & lifetime companion. RIP Alfie.”

Naga can relate to Simon as she lost her beloved pet cat Missy last month.
She penned: “Said goodbye to our darling, sweet girl Missy yesterday.
“She may have been small, but she was immense in stature.
“The sweetest cat I’ve ever loved. She’s left a massive hole in our hearts and home.”
Naga has two other cats named Xena and Bella which she frequently posts on Instagram.
