Class of 2023 top-five prospect Mookie Cook recommits to Oregon
By ADAM ZAGORIA
Just over a month after decommitting from Oregon, five-star Mookie Cook has recommitted to playing in Eugene.
The No. 2 small forward in the Class of 2023, he initially chose the Ducks, where his sister Chaquinn was a track star, over Kentucky and Gonzaga. He then decommitted in June.
Now, Oregon lands Cook again, where he will join a recruiting class that includes point guard Jackson Shelstad and small forward. K.J. Evans.
“Coach Altman is a cool guy,” Cook said when he first committed. “He’s laid-back but serious on the court. He is a very receptive person. He listens to his players in-game. Assistant coach Mike Mennenga stayed in strong communication with me the whole process. We built a great relationship.”
