Brighton To Delay Decision On Blackburn Rovers Target

The 22-year-old defender spent last season on loan at Ewood Park and made 31 appearances for the Championship club, catching the eye.

Blackburn are keen to re-sign him on loan to bolster Jon Dahl Tomasson’s squad and have been probing that possibility this summer.

Van Hecke was an unused substitute in Brighton’s opening two Premier League games and Graham Potter is yet to make a decision over his future.

It has been claimed that Brighton are delaying taking a call on the Dutchman until towards the end of the window.

Potter wants to assess his squad over the next few days and see whether Brighton bring in more defensive reinforcements.

He likes the defender and has involved him in his first team plans so far this season but he could still be loaned out.

But that decision is only expected to be made in the final days of the transfer window once everything is properly assessed.
