On Allahabad high court orders, the CB-CID on August 17 lodged an FIR at the Lanka police station against eight policemen under sections 304A (causing death by negligence) and 166 (public servant disobeying law, with intent to cause injury to any person) of IPC in the death of a BHU student who had gone missing on February 13, 2020 while his body was found two days later in a pond.
