This Small Island Nation Gets $66 Million China Loan To Fund Huawei Work
Sydney: Solomon Islands said on Thursday that they had received a loan of $ 66 million from China to fund the technology giant Huawei Building 161 Telecommunications Tower throughout the Pacific Nation.
The agreement marked the first financing received by the island state from Beijing since signing a secret security pact in April, after deciding on diplomatic relations to Taiwan.
The Solomon government said the agreement was the “historical financial partnership” that occurred after being restored with Beijing in 2019.
