Why Is Deepak Chahar Not Playing The Second IND vs ZIM ODI Despite MOM Performance In 1st ODI?
Harare: India is taking on Zimbabwe in the second ODI of the three match ODI series. A win in the second game will give India an unassailable lead in the series as they won the first ODI by 10 wickets. India have won 13 consecutive matches against Zimbabwe in ODIs, which is a record for most wins against a team in a format. The KL Rahul-led team will look to continue the winning momentum and further extend their dominance over the African nation.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul once again won the toss and opted to bowl. However, he shocked many when he revealed that Deepak Chahar will miss the game and Shardul Thakur will replace him in the team. Rahul didn’t give any update why Deepak is not playing the game despite winning the Man of the Match award in the last game. However, as per sources, Chahar has been given a rest as a precautionary measure. Chahar blew away the Zimbabwe top order in the last game with his three wicket haul. He was making a comeback to the Indian team after a long layoff due to injury.
“We will bowl first. Looks a little better, looks a lot harder than the previous surface and obviously bowling first there’s something in the wicket, hopefully we get early wickets. I would have taken 180-190 at the start, we bowled really well and there was no dropped catch or missed chance, just that they (Evans and Ngarava) batted really well after the ball got old. Just one change – Deepak Chahar misses out, Shardul Thakur comes in,” said Rahul after the toss
